Ministry of Education has instructed schools to set the duration for school sessions to no more than three hours a day.

In a circular, the education ministry instructed schools to limit the working hours for teachers to no more than four hours a day and to begin the first session at 0830hrs or 0900hrs, and to end the second session latest at 1500hrs. In addition, preschools are to limit their sessions to one hour and 30 minutes, and the duration for classes in grades 1-6 to be limited to two hours and 30 minutes, while grades 7-12 are to be limited to three hours.

Furthermore, the ministry urged all schools to set their school sessions in a way that does not inconvenience parents and formulate the schedule to allow students to pray during sessions and for teachers to leave early. The schools are also instructed to not schedule any activities during the hours between 1600hrs and 2100hrs, and to abide by the COVID-19 measures set by the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
