The President’s Office has revealed an area has been allocated for females on the ground floor of the Islamic Centre in Male’.
The President’s Office stated an area has been allocated for females on the ground floor of the Islamic Centre in order to resolve the difficulties faced by some women attending the congregational prayers in accessing the female areas on the upper floor. As such, the President’s Office announced a female-only area has been allocated in front of the reception of the office of the Islamic Centre on the ground floor of the building. However, the President’s Office urged abled women to continue using the upper floor for prayers, as the ground floor area is dedicated for women who may not be able to climb up the stairs due to physical restraints.
The government is undertaking several preparations ahead of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. As such, the renovation and refurbishment of several mosques are currently ongoing.
