Sri Lankan Airlines to operate two flights to Gan

Sri Lankan Airlines has announced it is beginning operating two weekly flights to Gan International Airport, Addu City.

The flag carrier of Sri Lanka stated it will begin operating two weekly flights between Colombo and Gan from March 29. Currently, the airline operates one weekly flight to Gan. Sri Lankan Airlines resumed direct flights to Addu in December last year, after a long suspension of services due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, Manta Air is providing domestic connections to the flights operated by Sri Lankan Airlines to Gan. The General Sales Agent of Sri Lankan Airlines in the Maldives, Ace Aviation Private Limited, revealed Manta Air will be providing domestic connections to the Gan flights operated by Sri Lankan Airlines, as part of efforts to make the international flights to Gan more sustainable. Ace Aviation revealed Manta Air will be providing domestic connections between Dhaalu Atoll and Addu City for Sri Lankan Airlines flights to Gan. Following the decision by Manta Air, Sri Lankan Airlines stated discussions will be ongoing to increase the number of flights to three per week.
