MTCC planning to conduct projects abroad within the next six years

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed plans to conduct projects abroad within the next six years.

Speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate the Meedhoo Harbour in Addu City, CEO of MTCC Adam Azim said the state-owned company is conducting a record number of projects across the country during this administration. As such, Azim revealed the company is currently working on 103 projects, worth approximately USD390 million. He added 93 projects have been completed within the last three years, noting the value of these projects amounts to over USD227 million.

Speaking further, Azim said MTCC aims to complete all of its ongoing major projects by the end of next year. He said the company is now setting its aim to develop its capacity to take on overseas projects. He added the company will be able to conduct projects abroad within the next six years.

MTCC is conducting major infrastructure development projects across the Maldives. In this regard, the company is currently carrying out 3 airport development projects, 3 causeway and link road development projects, 43 harbour and jetty projects, 7 port development projects, 33 shore protection projects, 7 road development projects and one sewerage project.
