Over 2,400 tonnes of cargo arrive in Addu ahead of Ramadan

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has revealed over 2,400 tonnes of cargo have arrived at the Hithadhoo Port in Addu City ahead of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.

MV Bonthi II of the national shipping company, Maldives State Shipping (MSS), docked in Hithadhoo on March 27. The ship has brought 2,439 tonnes of cargo, including a large amount of perishable goods and project cargo. Perishable goods brought by the ship includes egg, onion, potato, cabbage, tomato, banana, pumpkin, watermelon and pineapple.

Chief Manager of Hithadhoo Port Ibrahim Rasheed said all perishable goods would be cleared by March 28. He added all cargo will be cleared from the ship within the next two days.
