Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed over 2,000 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the Maldives in the last two weeks.
HPA had not published COVID-19 statistics since the State of Public Health Emergency was lifted on March 13. HPA provided an update of the two-week period since the health emergency was lifted, revealing 2,342 people had tested positive for COVID-19 during this period. This includes 184 cases in the Greater Male’ Region and 1,938 cases in the atolls. One COVID-19 death was also reported during this period.
As per the latest statistics, a total of 176,993 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Maldives, including 298 deaths.
