Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has opened a new temporary mosque in the Hiya neighbourhood of Hulhumale’ Phase II.
The mosque was officially inaugurated by Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali. Following the inauguration, the minister took a tour of the premises of the mosque and observed the arrangements provided.
HDC revealed that the mosque was established for the convenience of people living in the Hiya flats. HDC revealed that the mosque can accommodate 400 worshippers at once.
HDC has been undertaking several projects as part of the efforts to complete basic services in Hulhumale’ Phase II. As such, several projects are underway to establish mosques, preschools, schools, shops, and other services in the area.
