Stalls of temporary market in Hiya neighbourhood handed over to recipients

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has handed over the stalls of the temporary market developed in the Hiya neighbourhood of Hulhumale’ Phase II to its recipients.

A temporary market was developed in Hiya neighbourhood to enable people living in the Hiya flats to buy fruits, vegetables and other food items conveniently at cheap prices. HDC said the market would include 19 stalls, all of which have now been awarded. The corporation said 17 stalls have been handed over to recipients, and the remaining two stalls would also be handed over as soon as their agreements are signed.

The stalls of the market were only leased to recipients of Hiya flats. HDC said over 500 applications had been received for the market stalls.
