Schedule set for transport of goods in Male’ during Ramadan

Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has announced new policies for the transport of goods in the Greater Male’ Region during the month of Ramadan. The new policies were announced after the ministry received complaints about difficulties in providing services during Ramadan under the normal schedule.

Under the new policies, all types of vehicles are allowed to transport goods from 0900hrs to 1630hrs and from 2000hrs to 0600hrs, while vehicles are banned from transporting any types of goods for commercial purposes from 1630hrs to 2000hrs. Furthermore, the new policies state all types of vehicles are allowed to transport goods across the Sinamale’ Bridge from 0900hrs to 1630hrs and from 0100hrs to 0600hrs, while vehicles are banned from transporting any types of goods across the bridge for commercial purposes from 1630hrs to 2000hrs. It also states that vehicles can transport water and cooking gas across the bridge from 0900hrs to 1630hrs and from 2000hrs to 0600hrs.

The ministry stated that vehicles that violate the new policies will be penalised in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations.
