MWSC begins Dharavandhoo Sewerage Project

Male’ Water and Sewerage Company Private Limited (MWSC) has commenced the development of the Dharavandhoo Sewerage Project.

MWSC revealed sewer network pipe-laying works are currently in progress. A 9.53km sewer network will be established providing connections to 384 households, as part of the project. Three pump stations will also be established in three areas of the island to release impure water to the ocean. MWSC also said that machines will be provided to establish a pumping main of 0.78km to maintain the sewerage system.

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the project to MWSC on November 15, 2020. The project must be completed by December 5, 2022.
