Saudi Arabia to gift dates for Ramadan

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has revealed dates donated by Saudi Arabia to the Maldives are expected to be received during the last ten days of Ramadan.

The Government of Saudi Arabia has decided to donate 50 tonnes of dates to the Maldives this year. The Islamic ministry said a notable delay in the receiving of dates is due to the delay in the date season. Therefore, the dates are expected to be received during the last 10 days of Ramadan. The ministry revealed that once dates are received, distribution of dates will begin immediately.

The Government of Saudi Arabia has been donating dates to the Maldives every year during the holy month of Ramadan. As such, Saudi Arabia donated 25 tonnes of dates to the Maldives last year.

Moreover, Saudi Arabia has this year donated 200 Iftar packages and 3,000 Mus'hafs to the Maldives.
