Repair of old Hinnavaru Harbour completed

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed the repair of the damaged parts of the old harbour in Hinnavaru, Lhaviyani Atoll.

The repair of damaged parts in the old harbour was carried out as part of the Hinnavaru Harbour Extension Project, which was mobilised last year. MTCC revealed the old harbour has been reconstructed, and construction of the extension to the old harbour is currently ongoing.

The project involves construction of a 162m x 47m extension to the Hinnavaru Harbour. The scope of the project includes construction of a 653m concrete quay and a 123m breakwater, along with construction of revetments, harbour lights and pavement. The total cost of the project is above USD6.4 million.
