Ministry of Education has contracted Swift Engineering Private Limited to construct a building for Maalhendhoo School.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali and Managing Director of Swift Engineering Saudullah Hilmy at a ceremony held at the education ministry.
The project was contracted for USD1.37 million to be completed within 400 days. The education ministry said the project is carried out under the Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP) budget.
The government has been working to resolve the issues faced by schools, pertinent to lack of space, in several islands of the Maldives. As such, the government has launched various projects to build school buildings and develop schools across the country.
