Changes brought to Aasandha scheme due to COVID-19 revoked

Aasandha Company Limited has revoked all the eases offered amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Changes were brought to the policies and procedures for obtaining medical treatment through Aasandha during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the leniencies, it was possible to obtain doctor appointments without presenting identity cards. However, all such leniencies are revoked by the company now. As per the new rules, the Aasandha scheme will only offer coverage for a valid identity card or a passport copy.

During the State of Health Emergency, Aasandha had also allowed patients on long-term medications to take out drugs on the same prescription repeatedly, without needing to renew their prescriptions. However, patients are now required to bring a new prescription to take more doses.

Furthermore, Aasandha said it will only cover e-prescriptions, reminding the public that prescriptions written by hand will not receive insurance. Online consultation coverage will be provided only if the service was sought from a centre providing services through the Vinavi Portal, according to Aasandha.
