Fenaka working on resolving power outage issues in 8 islands

Fenaka Corporation Limited has revealed efforts are ongoing to resolve power outage issues faced in 8 different islands.

Fenaka said multiple projects have been launched to resolve power outage issues faced in some islands due to the overloading. As such, Fenaka revealed projects are currently ongoing in 8 different islands to resolve these issues.

Disclosing details of these projects, Fenaka revealed 250kW generators have been installed in Dhonfanu, Baa Atoll and Muraidhoo, Haa Alifu Atoll. Fenaka stated a network upgrade is underway in Meedhoo, Raa Atoll, while the relocation of the powerhouse in Hithaadhoo, Baa Atoll is also ongoing.

Furthermore, Fenaka revealed the installation of transformers as part of the distribution network upgrades in Veymandoo in Thaa Atoll, Villingili in Gaafu Alifu Atoll and Kulhudhuffushi City in Haa Dhaalu Atoll is underway. Fenaka stated a 1.2MW generator has been supplied to Fuvahmulah City to increase the capacity of the power grid in the island. Fenaka stated all these projects are expected to be completed by the end of next month.

Fenaka is the main utilities service provider in the atolls. The state-owned company is undertaking many projects to strengthen its utilities services across the country.
