Over USD194,000 of equipment released through AgroNat startup packages

Agro National Corporation (AgroNat) has revealed over USD194,000 worth of farming equipment have been released as part of the startup packages offered to local farmers.

The startup package was introduced under AgroNat's contract farming project. The package includes fertilisers, water hoses, chemicals, and other farming equipment.

AgroNat revealed over USD194,000 worth of equipment have been provided to 276 farmers through its startup packages. The company revealed the equipment were provided at prices which are 20% lower than market prices.

AgroNat was established by the government to market agricultural produce from local farms and provide a better income for farmers by providing technical and financial assistance to local farmers and helping them to market their produce. The company has established contracts with 717 local farmers to produce a wide range of fruits and vegetables.

AgroNat revealed over 150 tonnes of fruits and vegetables produced through its contract farming project have been released to the market within the last five months. The company added farmers have been provided more than USD129,000 as the price of the items.
