Fenaka Corporation Limited has commenced the development of the water system project in Fenfushi, Alifu Dhaalu Atoll.
The project was officially inaugurated by Minister of State for National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure Akram Kamaaluddin and Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation Ahmed Saeed Mohamed. The ceremony held in Fenfushi was attended by members of the island council and residents.
Fenaka revealed efforts to lay the pipes, test pressure and provide connection to households will be carried out in the next six months. As part of the project, Fenaka will establish a water network of over 9,600m and a storage capacity of 950 tonnes, place two water plants of 60 tonnes and provide connections to all households of the island.
The project was handed over to be completed by next December, although Fenaka expects to complete the project by November.
