The O’Level examinations have begun in the Maldives with nearly 6,000 students.

The O’Level examinations are being held at 239 centres in the Maldives, as well as the Maldives Cultural Centre in Sri Lanka and the Maldives Centre in Malaysia. As such, a total of 5,939 students are participating in the examinations.

The education ministry began handing out test papers to examination centres on April 20 and completed the work on April 29. The ministry stated that 181 students have already taken the Arts and Design test on April 13 and 14.

The education ministry had postponed some examinations during the COVID-19 pandemic and held the examinations after implementing the necessary health and safety measures. The ministry stated that it has special measures in place to allow students found positive for COVID-19 to participate in the examinations.
