Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has begun a programme aimed at providing information on the judicial sector to school students.
Speaking to PSM News, Assistant Registrar at the Supreme Court Faisal Adam said the court held similar open day activities previously, but that the activities were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Students in grades 1-3 at Ahmadhiyya International School participated in the first session of the programme held at the Supreme Court of the Maldives. During the session, students were given the opportunity to meet Supreme Court justices and inquire about their work. JSC also held various activities for students including colouring drawings of the court flags.
Secretary-General of JSC Izmeera Shiham said students from different schools will participate in the sessions, which will be held in various administrations of the judicial sector. She said the purpose of the programme is to increase awareness and interest in working in the judicial sector by allowing students to observe and participate in various aspects of the sector.
