Education Minister meets Maldivian principals training in Malaysia

Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali has met with Maldivian principals being trained in Malaysia under the Principals' Scholarship Programme.

The meeting was held as part of the education minister's ongoing official visit to Malaysia. During the meeting, Minister Aishath inquired about the progress of their studies. They noted the course is being conducted very well.

The first batch of principals awarded scholarships is being trained by the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The scholarship programme to train principals of schools was introduced by the education ministry to create qualified principals in a planned and sustainable manner. Under the three-year programme, all expenses will be incurred by the government.

The new scholarship programme aims to ensure that well trained Maldivian principals are appointed to all schools in the Maldives within the next three years, according to the education ministry.
