Information session held on business opportunities in Indonesia

The Government of Indonesia has held an information session on business opportunities in the country for Maldivians.

The information session was led by the new Ambassador of Indonesia to the Maldives Dewi Gustina Tobling. The ambassador gave a special presentation on the business opportunities in Indonesia during the meeting.

Speaking to PSM News, Ambassador Tobling said the information session aims to market Indonesia to Maldivian businesses and further develop the business relations between the two countries. She said the current volume of trade between the two countries is USD40 million and that she aims to market Indonesia as a huge supplier and producer in order to increase Indonesian imports to the Maldives.

Ambassador Tobling presented her credentials to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on May 17. Since then, she has been meeting with senior officials of the Government of the Maldives to discuss further strengthening relations between Indonesia and the Maldives.
