Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has commenced fieldwork of the shore protection project in Dharavandhoo, Baa Atoll.
The shore protection project of Dharavandhoo was contracted to MTCC to provide a solution for the problem of erosion faced by the island. Fieldwork of the project began on May 28.
The scope of the project involves replenishment of 10,800cbm of sand to eroding area, construction of a 490m breakwater and 96m revetment. The project is worth USD1.43 million.
