Maldives National Skills Development Authority (MNSDA) has held the first seminar on the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) and National Trade and Testing Certification (NTTC) programme. MNSDA is conducting the seminars to provide information on NAP and NTTC to the relevant authorities.
The first seminar was officiated by Minister of Higher Education Ibrahim Hassan. Speaking at the seminar, Minister Hassan said the purpose of national trade testing is to award certifications to those who have gained experience in a trade. He said that graduates of the apprenticeship programme conducted by MNSDA will also receive national-level certification. He also highlighted the work conducted by the ministry to develop technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in the country.
Those who attended the seminar included state and deputy ministers, assessors and training providers registered at MNSDA, as well as members of the authority’s technical panel and professionals in the TVET sector.
The higher education ministry stated that participants of the NTTC programme will receive certificates recognised by the Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) and that the programme recognises prior learning for a minimum of five years in a trade.
