Regional Agribusiness Exhibition held in Hanimaadhoo

Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture has held a regional agribusiness exhibition in Hanimaadhoo, Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

The exhibition was held for agricultural businesses in Haa Alifu Atoll, Haa Dhaalu Atoll, and Shaviyani Atoll. The purpose of the exhibition was to increase the opportunity to form business relationships between farmers and agricultural businesses.

Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources, and Agriculture Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan inaugurated the one-day exhibition. In his speech, Minister Hassan highlighted the importance of generating the most revenue from the smallest plot of land and the importance of forming business relationships between farmers and businesses to bring high-quality products to the market.

The ministry stated that agricultural businesses in 26 islands were invited to the exhibition and those that accepted the invitation were allocated stalls. Additionally, stalls were allocated to four companies that sell farming equipment and resources. SME Development Finance Corporation (SDFC) and Hanimaadhoo Agriculture Centre also joined the exhibition.

Furthermore, the ministry stated Information sessions were also conducted at the exhibition and participants had made agreements to implement mechanisms by which they can cooperate and exchange information and resources. The ministry stated that the exhibition has successfully developed business relations for the agricultural sector.
