IGMH activates Flu Clinic as cases increase

Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has opened its flu clinic, as fever and flu cases increase in the Greater Male' Region.

The flu clinic was resumed due to the increasing number of fever and flu. The hospital has also made special arrangements for doctor appointments for cases of cold and fever. IGMH said the flu clinic will be open from 0800hrs to 2300hrs.

IGMH has urged visitors to take precautionary measures for their own safety. Patients and visitors are advised to wear masks and to visit the hospital only when absolutely necessary.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has also urged individuals to take precautions following the increased spread of common diseases. As such, dengue fever, vomiting, and diarrhea have also been reported in the past few weeks, according to the HPA.

Statistics show that 185 cases of dengue and 13,361 cases of fever and flu were reported in May. In addition, 1,824 people were admitted last month for vomiting and diarrhea.
