Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir was also in attendance at the ceremony. Delivering his speech, Minister Zahir noted that every Muslim wishes to do good deeds before his passing and that an establishment can only be called a mosque if it is continuously being blessed with prayers.

RCC built the new mosque as part of its corporate social responsibility in memory of the company’s founder, the late Abdul Rasheed. The mosque, built to a contemporary design, has three floors and can accommodate 1,200 people. The mosque includes a wing for women and a parking area and is powered by solar energy.
