WAMCO introduces service to ease household registration process

Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO) has introduced the Door-Step Plus service to facilitate easier registration for waste disposal for households.

In a press release, WAMCO stated that households can register for waste disposal using the Door-Step Plus special service after paying a small deposit. Customers are also required to submit a copy of their national identity card or passport along with a non-refundable three-day equivalent waste disposal fee and a USD3.26 administrative charge. Customers can request for the service on the official WAMCO website.

WAMCO introduced the service after receiving complaints regarding challenges customers have been facing after the company brought changes to its household registration regulations in September 2021. The changes dictate that the waste disposal service is to be registered under the name of the owner of the household. It resulted in many customers being unable to register for waste disposal due to not receiving the owner’s approval or the owner residing somewhere else.

WAMCO had implemented the changes to make the waste disposal process similar to the other utility services it provides.
