Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali has revealed that the first school in Hulhumale’ Phase II will be opened on September 4.
Speaking at the Parliament of the Maldives, Minister Aishath noted that many students wish to transfer to schools in Hulhumale’ and that the government is working on meeting the demand. As such, she said the newly built Ahmed Kamil Didi School will soon begin classes in Hulhumale’ Phase II with slots available for 824 students.
Furthermore, Minister Aishath said Jameel Didi Preschool will also be opened in Hulhumale’ Phase II with slots available for 800 students. She also said that construction is ongoing for the development of two more schools in Phase II, which are Salahuddin School and another school which can each accommodate 1,200 students. She added that a new building is being constructed in Hulhumale’ Phase I for the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) and that Al-Jeri Holding Group is developing the Ajial Bilingual School.
In conclusion, Minister Aishath said that the school development projects in Hulhumale’ will add 6,000 slots for students.
