Maldives to create its own examination papers

Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali has revealed that efforts are underway to create its own examination papers.

Speaking at the Parliament of the Maldives, Minister Aishath said that there is a need for the Maldives to create its own O Level and A Level examinations. The minister noted that the national curriculum is being taught in the country and that it would be better for students if a national institute created context-relevant examination papers. She said that some work is already being done to create the examination papers, noting that it would be significant progress for the Maldives.

Currently, Maldivian students are required to take the Cambridge O Level examinations after the education ministry replaced the Edexcel A Level examinations.
