RDC to pave asphalt in roads of Thimarafushi, Gadhdhoo

Road Development Corporation (RDC) is scheduled to begin paving the asphalt on the roads under development in Thimarafushi in Thaa Atoll, and Gadhdhoo in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.

Speaking to PSM News, Managing Director Moosa Ali Manik said RDC had to halt its work during the COVID-19 pandemic but is now working to complete the projects as soon as possible. He said road development projects in five islands are 70% complete and that work to pave the asphalt will soon begin in Thimarafushi and Gadhdhoo. He said that asphalt will be paved in three more islands in October and that sidewalks and stormwater drainage systems have already been built.

RDC plans to develop six roads spanning 6km in Gadhdhoo and develop eight roads spanning 6km in Thimarafushi. The company will also be paving asphalt on the roads under development in Thinadhoo in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, Maamigili in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll, and Milandhoo in Shaviyani Atoll.

RDC is currently conducting road development projects in 17 islands.
