BML to continue internship programme with 15 new graduates

Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the continuation of its Graduate Internship Programme for the fourth year with 15 new graduates and students from local higher education institutions.

The national bank stated that the 12-month internship programme allows students to gain on-the-job experience and provide a pathway to permanent employment within the bank and other financial institutions in the Maldives. Interns will be rotated across a number of business units, departments and branches to gain experience and develop skills. Each intern is assigned to a mentor to guide them through their time at the bank.

BML also stated that the Graduate Internship Programme provides the opportunity to be part of the best paying internship programme offered in the country. Interns earn as they receive their on-the-job training and upon successful completion of the programme, will be eligible to apply for full-time positions at the bank.

The Acting Managing Director Aishath Noordeen said this programme has helped BML nurture, fresh graduates, to gain valuable job experience. She said 80% of individuals progressed to work as full-time employees at the bank and other institutions after the completion of the programme. She added that the bank will continue efforts to retain talent and offer opportunities for growth.
