The Maldives and Singapore have discussed enhancing trade ties between both countries. The discussions took place with Minister of State at the Prime Minister’s Office Desmond Tan as part of Vice President Faisal Naseem's unofficial visit to Singapore.
During the meeting, Vice President Naseem and State Minister Tan discussed relations between the Maldives and Singapore and highlighted areas for future collaboration between the two countries. In this regard, they spoke about areas of mutual interest, including human resource development, international cooperation, economic and business cooperation, and enhancing people-to-people contact.
Following the meeting, Vice President Naseem visited Sustenir agricultural production facility and inquired about their operations, where they grow smart vertical farms in high-rise buildings in urban areas, to reduce carbon footprint while maximising impact on local communities.
