Gov't committed to promoting vocational education and training

Vice President Faisal Naseem has reiterated the administration’s commitment to promoting vocational education and training. He made the statement while at a meeting with the senior management of the Maldives Institute of Technology (MIT).

At the meeting, the MIT officials shared with Vice President Naseem the challenges it faces and spoke about the growing need for training more people in technical fields. Around 450 students are currently enrolled at the institution, of which 150 will graduate soon. The institution also accommodates those who need special attention.

Furthermore, Vice President Naseem discussed with the MIT officials ways in which the administration could assist the institution in addressing its challenges. He also spoke about the importance of vocational education and training, especially for graduates, and recognised the institution’s work in the sector.
