The Cancer Society of Maldives (CSM) has raised nearly USD 12,900 at its annual Fundraising Gala Dinner which was attended by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed. The event held at Hotel Jen Maldives also commemorates the 10th anniversary of the CSM.
During the gala event, six recipients were awarded the outstanding contribution award of CSM. President Solih conferred the awards to three individuals who received the award and First Lady Fazna conferred the awards to three companies who have provided support to CSM.
The president and the first lady also inaugurated the awareness campaign and participated in the Let’s Get Active movement. The gala dinner night is an annual event organised by the CSM to raise funds for cancer screenings and to raise awareness about early detection, diagnosis, and screening in order to promote healthier lifestyles.
CSM founded in 2012 is a national community-based organisation formed for the purpose of reducing the incidence and impact of cancer in the Maldives, aiming to contribute to the well-being of the community by creating awareness about cancer, providing support, and circulating information and resources to enhance the experience of people fighting against cancer.
