Some services provided by the Hiyala Wing of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) have been temporarily shifted to Dharumavantha Hospital.
In a statement, IGMH revealed the change was made due to a technical problem with an elevator in Hiyala Wing. The hospital added some of the services provided have been moved to the 12th, 16th, and 17th floors of the Dharumavantha Hospital.
Following the change, emergency services provided on the second floor of the Hiyala Wing have been temporarily moved to the isolation area of the Trauma and Emergency Department of the hospital and patients admitted on other floors of the Hiyala Wing will be admitted on the 12th, 16th and 17th floors of Dharumavantha Hospital.
Furthermore, IGMH noted the Outpatient Department (OPD) services currently provided on the first floor and the intensive care, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) services on the 10th floor of the Hiyala Wing will remain unchanged. The state-owned hospital also said some interruptions may be caused due to the changes due to the lack of bed capacity, adding scheduled surgeries will temporarily be stopped.
IGMH said the issue with the elevator in Hiyala Wing will be solved soon.
