Housing Development Cooperation (HDC) hosted a study tour for secondary school students to provide them with knowledge of the smart city solutions in Hulhumale'. The tour was held to mark the one-year anniversary of HDC's Open Access Network.
During the tour, HDC provided students with firsthand knowledge and experience on Smartcom's digital infrastructure and smart city solutions. A total of 20 computer science students from Rehendhi School, Huravee School, Ghaazee School, and Brightway International School participated in the tour.
The students were given a presentation and a demonstration of the smart bench and pole installed in Hulhumale' Central Park and were given the opportunity to visit the telecommunications towers. Students were also provided with information on HDC's Open Access Network.
HDC stated that the aim of the tour was to provide information on the Smartcom brand and smart city products to the students, inspire them to pursue careers related to computer science and information technology, and bring more Maldivians into the field.
