Maalhos Council highlights significant developmental progress

Maalhos Island Council has highlighted significant developmental progress under the administration and extended its gratitude to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

At a meeting held at the President's Office, discussions were centred on the developmental projects carried out on the island and the pertinent needs of the island’s community. The council members highlighted that the island had been undergoing significant developmental progress under the administration and extended their gratitude to the president. The council members shared with the president concerns of the island community related to improving healthcare services, and the need for a new mosque and a beach. They also discussed the challenges facing the island in developing local tourism, proper waste management, and training people in technical fields. Meanwhile, members of the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) shared their concerns related to budget constraints.

Speaking at the meeting, President Solih said that the administration will look into ways to earmark funds in the budget for next year to address the issues raised at the meeting. He also assured them that their concerns would be shared with relevant government stakeholders.
