RDC to develop Holhudhoo roads

The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has handed over the development of roads in Holhudhoo in Noonu Atoll to the Road Development Corporation (RDC).

The agreement of the venture was signed by the Director General of the Planning Ministry Fathimath Shaana Faarooq and the Managing Director of RDC Moosa Ali Manik.

The development of roads in Holhudhoo is a long-awaited project of the residents. Therefore, the Holhudhoo Island Council requested to fast-track the road development during the visit of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in June this year.

As part of the project, 4.3km of roads mainly used and houses the offices will be tarred. The road construction work includes the installation of drainage systems and street lights. The project was awarded to RDC to be completed within 15 months for a cost of USD4.6 million.
