Türkiye team begin fixing issues at King Salman Mosque

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has revealed the team from Türkiye has begun fixing the issues identified in the air conditioning (AC) system at King Salman Mosque.

The work to fix the AC system started days after the worshippers complained the AC system in the mosque was not in use. The Islamic ministry said a team of technicians from Türkiye has arrived to resolve the issue. The worshipers have also expressed concern over the low volume of the sound system at the mosque and the electrical issues inside the premises.

The King Salman Mosque was opened to the public for prayers on April 1. The ministry previously revealed that the mosque would be officially opened by a delegation of the government of Saudi Arabia, but said the delegation has not yet given a definite date for their arrival.

The King Salman Mosque is a donation to the Maldives by the King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud. The mosque was designed and constructed by Turkish contractor Alke-Turmaks. The mosque is designed to accommodate 4,000 worshippers at once and showcases Islamic culture and heritage.
