Fenaka Corporation Limited has launched the electricity metre testing service, making it the second company in the Maldives to provide the service.
The service was officially inaugurated by Managing Director Ahmed Saeed and Chairman Mohamed Rasheed at a ceremony held at Feneka Corporation. Speaking after the inauguration of the service, Managing Director Saeed said the launch of the service is a revolutionary step forward in the country’s energy sector. He described waiting three or four days, or a week, for electricity metre testing service, as a thing of the past now.
Additionally, Saeed said that the necessary arrangements are being made to start the service in two populated areas of the country in the first phase. He also revealed that metre testing services will be established at two additional regions in the Maldives including the Greater Male’ Region. At present, the service is available in Haa Alifu Atoll and Haa Dhaalu Atoll from the northern region, and Addu City from the southern region.
Furthermore, Saeed stressed that the launch of the service warrants many easements for the Maldivian people. He said that the electricity metre testing service was only provided in the Maldives by State Electric Company Private Limited (STELCO) previously.
Speaking at the inauguration, Chairman Rasheed said that the Maldives is achieving remarkable successes in the energy sector. He said that the service started as a very simple service for metre testing alone but today it has become a smart service. He said Fenaka has the capacity to test up to 75 metres per hour. He also said that it is the first smart metre testing company in the country.
