AgroNat provides equipment worth USD344,000 for startups

Agro National Corporation Private Limited (AgroNat) has provided over USD344,000 worth of farming equipment to 282 farmers that have signed up for its startup package.

The startup package was introduced under the contract farming project launched by AgroNat. The package helps farmers acquire the items they need for production. It includes fertilisers, water hoses, chemicals, and other farming equipment.

AgroNat has facilitated convenient means for farmers to pay for their packages. As such, farmers are allowed to pay for their package in installments through the sales made by selling their produce to the company. The items provided through the startup package are released at prices that are 20% lower than the normal market rate.

AgroNat was established by the government to market agricultural produce from local farms and provide a better income for farmers by providing technical and financial assistance to local farmers and helping them to market their produce. The company has established contracts with 715 local farmers to produce a wide range of fruits and vegetables.
