The national carrier, Maldivian, has decided to launch connecting flights from Gan International Airport (GIA) in Addu City to Kooddoo Airport in Gaafu Alifu Atoll. The flights are being scheduled to facilitate the Flydubai flights to GIA next year.
Speaking to PSM News, Deputy Managing Director Aishath Jennifer said Flydubai will start flying to Addu in February next year. She said one of the main purposes of these flights is to enable tourists coming to Addu from Flydubai to get to their destination quickly without having to transit for long hours. She said the connection flights will commence on February 4, 2023. Flydubai will connect Addu in the Maldives with 250 destinations.
Flydubai, an United Arab Emirates (UAE) government-owned low-cost airline, is preparing to launch direct flights to Addu from February 4, 2023. Flydubai will fly to the Maldives daily with the launch of flights from Dubai to Addu. The flights will be operated from Dubai International Airport to GIA.
