Two Maldivian female entrepreneurs have received international awards at the International Women Entrepreneurs' Summit (IWES) 2022.
The awards were conferred in recognition of their outstanding successes in the businesses. The awards are conferred by the Women Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI).
During the summit held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, awards were received by Azleena Ameen, the Founder of Oaga, and Yumna Rasheed, the Founder of The Gift Basket Maldives. Azleena was presented with the Exceptional Woman of Excellence Award for setting an example for others in the field of business. Yumna received the Young Innovators Creating a Better World for All Award for excellence in research, design, productivity, and technology.
Speaking to PSM News, Yumna said it is her biggest achievement so far. She highlighted the assistance and support extended by Business Centre Corporation (BCC) in expanding her small business. She said the secret to her success is the trust her customers put in her work.
The Gift Basket Maldives prepares toys for children as sought by parents. Meanwhile, Ogaa was founded in April 2019 to provide customers with handcrafted premium bath and body products that are wholesome and eco-friendly.
The two-day International Women Entrepreneurs' Summit (IWES) 2022, is a joint initiative of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and Bangladesh-India Business Council (BIBC).
