SDFC halts accepting some loan applications

SME Development Finance Corporation (SDFC) has temporarily suspended the opportunity to apply for some loans. However, the opportunity to apply for three loans will continue during the period.

SDFC has temporarily suspended the opportunity to apply for loans from December 1. However, SDFC will continue accepting applications for agricultural loans, marine loans, and loans for the establishment of saltwater fish cooling systems. SDFC temporarily suspended the opportunity to apply for loans due to year-end work and to improve the quality of service. SDFC revealed the opportunity to apply for the loans will be re-opened on January 31, 2023.

SDFC was established as a specialised financial institution providing financial products and ancillary services to MSMEs and entrepreneurial start-ups with the primary purpose of easing access to finance for MSMEs. The main objective of the corporation is to provide financial assistance to newly established and growing SMEs in Maldives by introducing loans targeting various economic sectors in a sustainable manner. SDFC issues loans in seven areas.
