Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO) has purchased three more vessels to increase its fish processing capacity.
MIFCO said the registration of these vessels is currently underway. The state-owned company said it will announce the date of delivery and more details on the vessels soon.
MIFCO is making efforts to increase its processing capacity. As such, the vessels that have been previously purchased will also be used to increase capacity.
Fishermen have faced challenges in processing their catch due to the current fish processing capacity being inadequate during the high season.
