BML announces winners of Community Fund 2022

Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the 10 winning proposals for the third and fourth quarters of its Community Fund for the year.

The winning projects include the development of an outdoor school library in Maarandhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll proposed by Bandeyri Star Sports Club, a beach picnic park in Lhohi in Noonu Atoll proposed by SEED Association, a harbour waiting area in Mundoo in Laamu Atoll proposed by Mundoo Zuvaanunge Jamiyya, a picnic area in Kondey in Gaafu Alifu Atoll proposed by a non-governmental organisation (NGO) Kissaru, and a school waiting area in Maduvvaree in Meemu Atoll proposed by Maduvvaree Ijthimaaee Gulhun.

Other projects include upgrading the school computer lab in Foakaidhoo in Shaviyani Atoll proposed by Arula Sports Academy, upgrading the school Alimas Park in Milandhoo in Shaviyani Atoll proposed by Milandhoo Sports Club, digitisation of classrooms in Fonadhoo in Laamu Atoll proposed by Women Enhancement, installation of street lights in Maalhos in Baa Atoll proposed by Maalhos Recreation and Environment Society, and developing a community garden in Hithadhoo in Addu City proposed by Vehi Saafu.

The Community Fund is a programme to empower NGOs to contribute to their communities through sustainable projects. BML has so far provided financial assistance for 80 projects across the country through this Fund.
