President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has arrived in Faresmaathodaa, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, to join celebrations to mark the 42nd Fishermen’s Day.
During the visit, President Solih will attend the official function to mark Fishermen’s Day. He will visit the stands at the Fisheries Expo and attend a fish-filleting contest organised on the occasion by the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture.
Furthermore, President Solih will meet the fishermen's community and inquire about their work. He will also discuss developmental plans and inquire about pertinent issues at a meeting with the Faresmaathodaa Island Council and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) of the Island.
President Solih will conclude his visit and return to Malé City on December 12.
