Islamic Minister inaugurates Hirimaradhoo Mosque project

Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali has inaugurated the project to develop a mosque in Hirimaradhoo, Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

At a special ceremony, Minister Zahir and President of Hirimaradhoo Island Council Mohamed Waheed inaugurated the project with members of the council and senior officials of the Islamic ministry in attendance.

In January, Wave Length Private Limited was contracted to complete the development of the mosque within a year at a price of USD573,000. The company is tasked with building a mosque with a capacity of 300 worshipers and a special area for women, a bathroom, an ablution area, a storage area, and a minaret. The mosque will use renewable energy to power its air conditioning system.
