Ministry of Higher Education has opened the opportunity to apply for 15 scholarship opportunities for nurses to attain master’s degrees.
The higher education ministry will be accepting applications until the end of December 29. Applications are to be submitted to the designated online portal.
Applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree in nursing and be registered at the Maldives Nursing and Midwifery Council. Their educational credential should be lower than the applied course and they should not be enrolled in a similar course. Applicants that have previously taken an educational loan should be making payments regularly and not have defaulted.
The chosen candidate will receive the opportunity to study in Malaysia, the Philippines, or a country in the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). They will also be bonded to an allocated hospital for the same duration of the course, and those who fail to complete the course or fulfill the terms of the bond will need to pay back the cost of the course.
The higher education ministry’s point system for choosing candidates will be based on academic merit, and priority will be given to applicants who have worked in the Maldives after achieving their bachelor’s degree.
