RDC conducts survey for Holhudhoo road development

Road Development Corporation (RDC) has conducted a survey for the road development project in Holhudhoo, Noonu Atoll.

A team from RDC traveled to Holhudhoo to conduct the survey as well as hold discussions with the Holhudhoo Island Council prior to commencing the project. RDC stated that the site will be mobilised and fieldwork will begin soon.

The development of roads in Holhudhoo is a long-awaited project of the residents. Therefore, the Holhudhoo Island Council requested to fast-track the road development during the visit of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in June. Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has handed over the development of roads in Holhudhoo to RDC on October 31.

As part of the project, RDC will lay asphalt on 4.3km of roads that are mainly used and houses the offices. The project includes the installation of drainage systems and street lights. The company is required to complete the project within 15 months for a cost of USD4.6 million.
